River Cleanups |
Keeping the River clear of obstructions and free from litter is a necessary but thankless task. However, by carrying out these cleanups, not only does it present our waters in a favourable light to the public and visiting anglers, it also ensures the habitat and environment is suitable for the wildlife and fish to flourish. This in itself is justification enough to carry out the work.
So, first of all may we take this opportunity to thank all those members who took part in the cleanups over the last year. Without your continuing help and support these events would
not be able to take place and would not be the success that they have been.
We have cleaned up many areas along the river from Blackmill down as far as the Dipping Bridge.
We’ve been able to clean more of the river this year by extending the schedule of cleanups to the
end of the season, and we will be continuing this in the foreseeable future.
River cleanups will take place on the first Sunday and Wednesday of every month. Please make every effort to attend!
It would be great to see more of the members
taking part in these worthwhile events. And don’t
forget if you take part in 3 or more you will be entitled
to a discount on your following years membership.
If you have any questions or queries regarding the
cleanups then don’t hesitate to contact Brian Jones. |
Other Association Events |
As other events arise, they will be documented below. Don't forget to check the latest Association News and Updates on the Home page. Please also see the Newsletter for further details. Please note, you need to be an Association Member to take part in these events.

AGM /Half Yearly Meeting |
The purpose of the half yearly meeting is to provide members with an update on events and changes that may have taken place and affected the Association since the Annual General Meeting.
It also serves another purpose, in that it gives Association members the opportunity to'chew the fat' and discuss the tales of woe about lost fish or lack thereof and also to discuss successes that some Association members might have had. It's also very beneficial to new Association members who, in their first season, might still be trying to get to grips with the River and it's peculiarities. Make a date in your diary and be there!
Half Yearly Meeting
The date for next year's meetings will be posted when decided by the Council.
